Hello! Imagine seeing you here. Just popping in with a totally unplanned post! Last night I went to the red carpet premiere of 21 Jump Street. Before you get excited, though, I should tell you that I was across the street with the worst camera lens that I own and a horrible view.
My friend Cam was working the red carpet (otherwise known as "the pit", a valuable lesson we learned from a nearby paparazzo), so his girlfriend Sarah (also my friend) and I decided to tag along and creep from the sidelines. It was a very...interesting experience. We met a couple crazypants fans, chatted with some paparazzi, and saw some celebrities (Channing Tatum (does anyone else ever mix up his first and last name?), Jonah Hill, Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle, Ice Cube, Jake Johnson, etc. etc.), including a random sighting of Chris Pratt and Anna Faris going incognito on the crowded sidewalk behind us. We talked a lot about how intriguing and fascinating the whole celebrity/fame culture is, and how fun it is to be close to it and experience it firsthand now that we live in LA. And it really, really is just that. Fun. To stand around with a crowd of other excited people who are in the same place to experience the same thing has always been one of my favorite activities. The atmosphere tonight was charged, people were happy, and it was awesome to be near the action. Bottom line: I enjoyed myself, and you'll be seeing more posts like this from me (though hopefully with higher quality pictures, as soon as I get my zoom lens fixed).
