Hey all. One more premiere post for you, and then I promise I'll leave off on the whole loitering-and-being-creepy-across-the-street-from-celebrities thing. Cam was working the Mad Men premiere last night, so Sarah and I headed over to the Arclight to see what was up.
Are you ready for some more awful photos?
A sizeable chunk of the cast was there, minus, sadly, Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss, two of my favorite characters. And you guys, I got waved at. Twice. First by Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper), and then by January Jones (Betty Draper). I might have screamed a little at the January wave. Who am I? What have I become? Too school for cool, that's what.
The only remotely salvageable photos I got were of Jon Hamm, January Jones, and Rich Sommer.
As it got darker and the lights of the red carpet became more noticeable, more people came and stood by us to check it out. We made new friends: a girl who had driven by, seen the premiere, and spontaneously parked so she could gawk from the sidewalk, and a homeless man smelling strongly of body odor and marijuana who lingered a little too close and kept asking us what we were doing afterwards. It was an experience.
After spotting some of the same paparazzi/autograph hounds that we saw at the 21 Jump Street premiere, Sarah and I came to the conclusion that, while fun, the whole thing is a tad sleazy. I think we'll stick to the occasional movie premiere from now on, and we probably won't be doing the whole two nights in a row thing again. That's right, folks, I'm hanging up my paparazzo cap. It was a short-lived but sweet career.
That's all for now! Toby and I are heading to San Francisco tomorrow morning to spend a weekend with Toby's aunt, uncle, and cousin...and I still haven't written about last weekend. I'll get there. Hopefully. Don't give up on me yet.
Happy Pi Day (thank you for keeping me informed of current events, Facebook)!
