This past weekend, D (of D&L fame) had a birthday party to celebrate his fifth year of life. Let me tell you: Californians know how to do it right. Remember those dream parties you always wanted to have as a kid, with a bouncy castle and a balloon man and millions of your friends? Welcome to my Saturday.
I have never seen so many joyous little preschoolers in one place. They skipped back and forth between the bouncy castle, the sandbox, the playhouse, the arts and crafts booth, the tables where their parents sat with plates loaded with delicious food and candy, and then back to the bouncy castle again. And Buster Balloon, who was the main act of the day was hilarious. I was expecting a couple of corny jokes and a balloon dog or two, because that's my vision of what balloon guys are like for some reason, but man oh man, was I wrong.
Yes, that is a birthday cake balloon crown.
He actually went fully inside the balloon.
Look how happy D was! So cute.
It was a fantastic birthday party. Or as half of the attendees would have said, "a gweat birfday party".
After the show, Buster made all of the kids balloon swords and hats; whatever they requested, they got. They rewarded him by hitting him with the balloons.
Happy birthday, D! And Happy Tuesday to you, and you, and you.
