A couple of weeks ago, we went to Colorado to attend the wedding of Toby's aunt, Bethany, and her wonderful now-husband, Jim.
It was a five-day journey of epic road tripping, Toby sleeping
, wedding festivities, dancing, late night shenanigans in and overpacked car, mountain climbing (okay, okay, aerial tramway riding), and general happiness and relaxation.
I got to meet a whole bundle of Toby's relatives for the first time, which was surprisingly not overwhelming at all. They're a crazy bunch, but they're also super welcoming and warm, and we had a lot in common, especially in the Sense of Humor Department. And really, that's the most important similarity to have.

You can probably guess what the outcome was.
The wedding was beautiful. It took place in a park right by a lake, with storm clouds on the horizon that threatened to blow in and soak us to the bone but ended up letting just a few fat drops free, choosing to rain on someone else's parade (or wedding) instead.
|Bethany and Jim are avid cyclists, so after the ceremony was over, all of their friends made a bike tire tunnel for them to walk through while everyone cheered.|
After the ceremony, we imbibed and sang and danced, eating delicious food and laughing at the sometimes risque stories friends and family told about the bride and groom.
|Turns out my boyfriend is quite the dancer - he took over the dance floor and everyone loved him, especially the ladies. What can I say; I pick 'em good.|
The weekend, as usual, was far too short. We were up bright and early on Sunday morning, and after a quick stop in Boulder to eat breakfast with Toby's cousin Nate, we were on the road again, this time joined by Toby's other cousin, Billy, who was kind enough to put up with us for two days in a cramped car in the middle of the desert. What a guy.

Beautiful family, beautiful country, beautiful life. I love road trips.
