Last weekend, Toby's parents Mike and Kim were in town, and oh what a time we did have.
Toby and I love having visitors. Showing off our city is one of my favorite things to do. It's just so rad here. Dude. Like, totally. You know.
Last weekend's activities included: dinner at Paradise Cove in Malibu
, a beach day in Hermosa, going to see Cinespia's screening of Manhattan at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and a stroll on the Santa Monica Pier. I missed sightseeing on Mulholland and the Hollywood Strip and a few other activities because I had to work, but I got a good two-and-a-half days with Mike & Kim, and I had such a fantastic time.
Father-son bonding time, boogie boarding edition
Seriously, the storm clouds lately have been ridiculously epic
(none have reached LA though, which makes me kind of sad)
Mike and Kim have a way of making a girlfriend (such as myself) feel like the most special, wonderful person in the world. If you want to feel awesome about yourself, spend some time with these two.
I feel incredibly blessed to have them in my life, and to know that the parents of the man I love (it still feels really, really weird to call males my age "men", but I'm trying, I'm trying sooooo haaaaaaaard) have as much love for me as I have for them. Last weekend was a great reminder of that love.
See? Different day - more epic clouds.
"Wanderlust in the City" - yoga on the pier - wish I had known about this!
This coming weekend includes another beach day (it's supposed to be 88 degrees AT THE BEACHES - if you're not from LA, let me tell you: this is big), lots of friend time, and general relaxation. I hope your weekend is just as wonderful.
IT'S FRIDAY! Happy day, friends!
P.S. Ten minutes on a boogie board, and Toby's already asleep
