Photo Menagerie

I haven't been around this blog much lately. I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned that my regular nanny/personal assistant job unofficially "ended" about a month ago; by "unofficially" and ""ended"", I mean that I still do work for them from time to time, but I no longer have a guaranteed number of hours a week. As a result, I have become a sort of jill-of-all-trades, which is basically just a fancy way of saying that I work a lot of random jobs, my schedule is all over the place, and I haven't been able to muster the downtime willpower to just write a damn blog post, already.

In the past month, I have made money doing work as a dog walker, an office production assistant at Popsugar, a personal assistant for two families, a babysitter, and best of all: a photographer! My photography business seems to finally be gaining some steam, which has been so exciting for me (shameless plug: if you live in Minnesota and want pictures - baby, engagement, family, senior, lifestyle, you name it - taken when I'm home July 15-21 or August 30-September 8, holla at me!).

Above, you will find some photos of what I've been up to lately; babysitting, traveling home for a wedding, pool fun, and movies in the cemetery, to name a few. In lieu (I love that word, it always makes me think of this song.) of telling a story with my photos, which I adore doing but which also takes a fair amount of effort that I am simply not in the mood for right now (I blame the heat wave that has currently taken over my non-air-conditioned life - humidity in Los Angeles?! I'm so confused.), I decided to just toss them all together and see what happened. A menagerie, if you will. A mish-mash of life.

I really am going to try to be better about blogging (said every blogger ever) as I slowly get a handle on my inconsistent schedule. I've been reading more lately (thisthis, and this), which has been spurring me on to be more wordy myself. Funny how that happens.

I hope everyone's summer has been sun-and-happiness-soaked thus far. Mine's been pretty great.

Happy Tuesday!
