I didn't take a whole lot of photos in Minnesota this year. In lieu of bringing my DSLR with me, I carried my phone around to all of the gatherings, and then I didn't end up using that very much either. I'm not always in the mood to take pictures. I often neglect to take pictures of events that mean a lot to me, usually when they take place in public. For instance, Toby and I visited a couple of breweries with a large group of friends the day after we arrived in Minnesota, and I don't think I have a single photo documenting the entire day.
Sometimes you just need to put down the camera and be in the moment.
So instead, I give you my family opening presents on Christmas Eve. It is one of my favorite parts of Christmas, and this year my Aunt Lisa and Uncle Mark were present and there were stick-on mustaches involved, so you really can't get much better than that.
